Our work recently took us just north of Chicago to a home in the suburbs of Glenview, where we were tasked with finding the best storage solution for a family’s home office / study room.
We first met with the family to discuss their specific wants and needs. They invited us in for a consultation, and to examine the particular room they were looking to add some new furniture in. During the free consultation, we learned more about this family’s challenge. Here’s what they told us:
1. They needed plenty of desk space to house a printer and accessories, while still having room for a computer or laptop to do work when needed.
2. They wanted an effective storage solution to be able to file away documents and other important information.
3. They wanted a well designed, high quality product that would look great with their existing hard wood floors.
To help accommodate them, we recommended custom inset cabinets along with a matching one piece counter top.
The family selected a lovely cherry stained wood for the construction of both the cabinet and counter, which complemented their existing wood floors nicely. The deep color and texture of the cherry wood gives off a magnificent red tint, serving as a perfect contrast to the cool turquoise of their walls. In addition, cherry wood is known for its durability, and has a reputation for adding warmth and a distinct decor to any room in a house.
